To Parents - Guidelines for Cooperation

At Mountain View Academy, we believe that parents are partners in the educational journey of their children. To foster a nurturing, disciplined, and effective learning environment, parental cooperation is not just encouraged—it is essential.

Support in Discipline and Character Building

Parents and guardians are expected to actively support the school’s efforts in promoting discipline, responsibility, honesty, diligence, and courteous behavior in their children.

Academic Progress Communication

All queries regarding a student’s academic progress must be routed through the class teacher. Open channels of communication are maintained via Parent-Teacher Meetings and monthly updates.

Access During School Hours

Parents/Guardians are not permitted to meet students or staff during school hours without prior approval from the Principal or Headmistress. This helps ensure uninterrupted learning and classroom discipline.

Promote Regularity and Punctuality

Parents are urged to ensure their child’s regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to school discipline. A consistent home environment that values education will reflect in the child’s overall performance.

Understanding School Curriculum & Facilities

Before enrolling their child, parents are expected to familiarize themselves with the curriculum, teaching methods, and facilities provided by the school. Queries and clarifications should be addressed at the time of admission.

Restricted Areas During Class Time

Loitering or waiting near classrooms or verandahs during class hours is strictly prohibited to maintain order and concentration among students.

Proper Uniform and Supplies

It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that their child is neatly dressed in proper uniform, and is equipped with the required textbooks, stationery, and school accessories.

Prohibition on Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas of the school campus, including the reception, office, and waiting areas. Parents and visitors are requested to respect this policy.

Institutional Rules & Policy Adherence

The rules and policies stated in the school prospectus are framed to serve the general welfare of the institution. These norms will not be altered or customized for any individual or group. The school reserves the right to introduce or revise rules, whether permanent or temporary, to uphold its discipline, standards, and reputation.

Communication via Hand-Book

Parents are requested to review and sign the following regularly:

  • Monthly Reports
  • Late Attendance or Absence Records
  • Notes or remarks from teachers

These are sent through the Student’s Hand-Book and act as a vital communication link between the school and home.

By working together, we ensure that your child receives the best educational experience possible, in an environment that is disciplined, secure, and nurturing.
