Examination & System of Evaluation

Examination & System of Evaluation

At Mountain View Academy, we adopt a continuous and comprehensive evaluation system to monitor and assess each student’s academic performance and personal growth throughout the academic year.

Continuous Assessment
  • Students from L.K.G. to Class VIII are evaluated through Monthly Assessments, Class Tests, and Terminal Examinations conducted at the end of each term.
  • The entire academic year is divided into three terms, and performance in each term is cumulatively considered for promotion.
  • Class teachers will notify parents in advance regarding the syllabus covered for each assessment period.
Examination Rules & Conduct

To maintain discipline and academic integrity, the following rules must be strictly observed during examinations:

  • Only fountain pens with blue ink are allowed. Use of ballpoint or micro-tip pens is strictly prohibited. Such pens will be confiscated and not returned.
  • Students must carry their ID card and wear proper, clean, and complete school uniform.
  • The following issues will result in a deduction of 5 marks from the respective exam paper:
    • Late arrival to school or examination hall
    • Wearing un-ironed or improper uniform
    • Uncombed hair
    • Unpolished shoes
    • Untidy handwriting or disorganized presentation
    • Not carrying the school ID card
    • Use of disallowed writing instruments (ball pens, gel pens, micro-tip pens)
Policy on Malpractice
  • Any student found cheating or aiding others in cheating during an examination will:
  • Be awarded zero marks in that subject.
  • Be suspended from appearing in the remaining examinations for that term.

This applies equally to the one copying and the one assisting.

Absence During Examinations
  • Students who are absent without prior approval or a valid reason during Monthly or Terminal Exams will:
  • Be marked as absent,
  • Be considered as failed in that subject, and
  • Will not be re-examined under any circumstances.
